It's taken 3 weeks to complete but I got another sculpt under my belt ready for sale. This was particularly hard because I broke the habit of the play dough type of approach and started to actually sculpt. This one didn't have an armature, but I did use the pinning technique and the one hand took several hours to sculpt. Hands are always the hardest no matter what you are doing. Her coloring was something new, and mistake all in one. I added too much brown to the default peachy color and came out with this. Being that it was darker, I figured it would be easier to sculpt and it wouldn't show dust like the lighter shades. It sculpted like butter, and had such a pretty sheen to it before baking made it look dusty and flawed. That is the unfortunate part of sculpting in this medium is that what you think is great when still pliable, it possibly won't be the same after bake time. I added liquid mica on her skin. It was an artsy move. But in the end I was happy. I definitely know where massive improvement needs to be made. It's all about making it better. Here is what resulted. I am going to keep going with the sculpting. I sold the turquoise mermaid last week which was a major accomplishment. I kind of feel like I am now an actual artist. As cheesy as that may seem, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face for at least a day. Seeing as I don't get comments, but somehow manage to get some views, I do have a
