Halloween Wreath

It's my favorite time of year! I love fall and all that goes with it. I love especially making silly things for Halloween. I have done some pumpkins already and decorated the house. I am no Martha Stewart, maybe someday I can go as much as she does. I saw this little thing though on a site and thought how cute it was. You couldn't possibly copy it completely, but the idea is simple enough and ends up being personal and so very cute on the door. It's the Halloween Ribbon Wreath. You can do this with ribbon you already have, or if you are like me, and had none, then buy a bunch of spools. However, wait till the sales hit, because a good spool of cute Halloween ribbon can set you back 4 dollars a spool. I used over 7 ribbons. So it does get pricey. Luckily you can make a couple wreaths and the Styrofoam is super cheap. You could even avoid the ribbon and use material scraps of a Halloween color set. Even paper, but with that you may have to decoupage it on...but we can figure that out later.

Here is how I did it.

I have a small wreath and cut to size the ribbons I will need. I used different widths and it makes for more interest in it when you are done. I used small pins to secure the ribbons. No glue. That way you can adjust, because you will likely need to.

After you are done and the pins are ribbons are secured, I would suggest painting a little Elmer's glue on the ribbon ends to prevent fraying and unraveling. I also added a bow at the bottom. You could even hot glue little Halloween decorated pieces.

This is the finished product. It turned out better than I expected and it really cute. I love that it's not a cookie cutter decoration, it's highly unique even if you and bunch of friends got together to make a few. I can't wait to  do this for Christmas.
