As I stated before, I had this terrible piece of crap fairy that I killed. I am embarrassed that I even posted a picture of it. I did some research and started studying the ways to use armatures. I must credit Patricia Rose http://www.patriciarosestudio.com/ for allowing a person to see how she does her amazing work. She has pieces that are to die for and I hope someday I can strive to do half as beautiful things as she does. It was through her site that I learned that armatures make all the difference. It's life changing! Before, I couldn't stand up anything. They were all glued to the boards. They were flimsy, and once they were on a position, it's not likely you are gonna move it again. This way, until it's "fired" she is completely movable. My challenge now is to smooth out the legs and arms. Her middle is going to be covered with clay made clothes so it's not too big of a deal. She is sitting on a cup, but not sure if I will keep it there. Anyway, it's taking forever. I blew my hourly rate on this. But if I do a good job, maybe for once, I will keep something I make. I am very excited. Her wings are done. Now it's time for hands and feet and of course the head. But first, firing, sanding, and that will take me a while.
