Okay, so this project became a little more complicated than I anticipated. I am not the best sewer so it was logically hard for me to put it together. I did it a couple times wrong and had to undo the seams and start back to almost the beginning. After I got my pieces sewn, it looked like a basket. It worked.
At this point I turned it inside out to put in the lining. This was the trickiest part.
I added this thing to the bottom for stability. I am not sure what it is. It's in the quilt section. It was easy to cut but I chose it as it was plastic and thing yet stable.
Almost all done......
Here is where I completed the pillow and added a trim along with the mattress and blanket. I stuffed the mattress with fluff and meant to put in little stitches to look better. But I got tired and just didn't do it. I know..terrible excuse.
All put together. It looks pretty close to the 35 year old original. I can't duplicate the material and I know that the original had hand quilted material. Luckily, you can buy that material already quilted with batting now days. I got a little baby from target to place inside. I am giving it to my best friend's little girl tomorrow. Hopefully. She will like it.
